This is how they come to school....car, bus, or snow mobile!

Guess the students won't be playing on the outdoor fields for awhile.

Bristol Bay in the winter...for those of you watching Sarah Palin's Alaska, this is where she was on the show 2 weeks ago.  They were catching slamon.  Looks a lot different in the winter!

Spent the weekend out here working on Saturday and "playing" on Sunday.  It was VERY COLD!!!

Thanksgiving Dinner in downtown Anchorage!

Thanksgiving in Anchorage

This is what Thanksgiving in Alaska looks like!  We had 8 - 10 inches of snow.  We were suppose to go to dinner at 6:00 pm with friends.  We decided there was no way we could drive in it.  The plows had not run at all and there was no sand on the roads.  But.....to our delight my co-worker and her husband came to get us.  We had a wonderful night out with her and her husband and another co-worker and his wife.  What a way to celebrate Thanksgiving.  It was like a DREAM!

Juneau, Alaska

These pictures are of the Mendenhahl Glacier in Juneau, Alaska.  When I finally got out of Angoon we had a 5 hour layover in Juneau.  One of our friends who works for the Department of Education in Juneau took us to the glacier.  It was snowing and raining at the same time.  More EAGLES!!!!  Enjoy!

This is my plane touching down in the water.
This is the plane I came in on...4 passengers.
 This is the village!

This is me and my co-worker....we travel into all of the villages together.
 Seagulls!
AMAZING...Right??????

This is the latest village I was in.  Left on monday and returned on Wednesday just in time for Thanksgiving.  Almost did not make it back due to weather but the important thing was I did.  I'll be going back to this village in February.  This was first landing and take off in the water.  They have no runway.  They have grizzly bears, whales, eagles, salmon, halibut, etc.  A very beautiful village.  90% unemployed and 99% native Alaskan (Tlinguit).  Enjoy!
